Action Alliance

A way to make a difference

ATA’s Action Alliance is a grassroots network of dedicated volunteers – people like you. We work to educate and influence Congress and other elected leaders who make funding decisions that directly affect tinnitus research. In other words, ATA advocates for effective public policies that will support our mission to cure tinnitus. Our top advocacy priority is to fight, through Congress, for more funding from the:

  • U.S. Department of Defense
  • Department of Veterans Affairs
  • National Institutes of Health

We’re making progress

ATA's Action Alliance is making progress inside Washington, D.C.’s Beltway and beyond. Read about our advocacy accomplishments and see us in action.

Support our veterans: A top priority

Are you or someone you care about a veteran who suffers with tinnitus caused by loud noise or head trauma during military service? The number of vets with this problem grows by an alarming 18 percent each year. In fact, of all military personnel exposed to blasts while serving in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, 49 percent develop tinnitus. But ATA is making a difference.

Tinnitus is not cool: Information for musicians and music lovers

Music is both magical and menacing. For many, loud music causes tinnitus. Most at risk are:

  • Music lovers with the volume cranked up on their iPods, stereo systems or CD players
  • People who attend live concerts with any kind of music.
  • Rehearsing and performing musicians

If you play or listen to music, you are risk. Read more.
